Kim, who claims to have suffered school violence in high school from Park Cho-rong, the leader of girl group Apink, expressed her strong will to resolve the situation with the law.
Kim Soon-yong, a lawyer for Daemyeong Law Firm and Kim’s legal representative, said in a telephone interview with Financial News on the 6th, “The client has no intention of such an agreement.”
Kim claimed that she was “a victim of a school violence assaulted by Park Cho-rong during her school days,” but Park Cho-rong’s agency filed a criminal lawsuit against Kim on charges of defamation and attempted coercion in case of falsehood, and Kim also sued Park Cho-rong on the 5th.
Lawyer Kim Soon-yong said, “This case has one issue. You can check whether Park Cho-rong has bothered the client several times, and whether or not she was violent at that specific time.”
“I’ve been in charge of a lot of these cases, and most of them wanted a financial solution [compensation],” she said. “But the client said, ‘The truth wins,’ and she had a strong will to take legal action.” Lawyer Kim added, “There has been no direct contact with the client or agent from Park’s agency yet.”
Kim, who claims to have suffered school violence, also said, “We don’t need compensation,” and stressed, “If there is no official recognition and apology for violence, I will take my lawsuit against Park Cho-rong to the end.”
“The agency says I changed my words and avoided the meeting, but that’s not true either,” she said. “We have only unilaterally notified the schedule without even thinking about apology.”
Meanwhile, Park Cho-rong’s agency PlayM Entertainment has been silent since announcing its official position on May 5th. To ask the authenticity of Park Cho-rong’s past photos sent by Kim, he requested to cover them by e-mail, but no answer has been received.
